A Real Country Singer
Born in Charlotte, NC, and raised in Mountain City, Tennessee, Larry began singing at the age of three. Larry loved music and as a teenager he developed his own style, a blend of Traditional Country, Gospel and Rockabilly. In addition to performing in auditoriums, VFW, American Legions, ect., he also enjoys singing at conventions, churches, and other family functions. In 1995 Larry recorded "Drinkin Whiskey Straight" (written for George Jones) that topped the cash box charts at number one. In October 2011, "Drinkin Whiskey Straight" made radio
comeback when a DJ in California turned it loose on the Internet giving Traditional Country Music lovers the sound that put the word country, into Country Music!
Larry's most requested song is one that has crossed from the Gospel charts to Country Radio. You will find "Working Man's Prayer" being played on many country radio stations while the video is currently being played world-wide! This song charted #6 in the Country Top 30.
Larry has performed with LEGENDS such as Grand Ole Opry Star, Charlie Louvin, Jim & Jesse, Donna Stoneman, The Osborne Brothers & many more.
If you ask Larry why he sings the music that he does he will tell you, " I'm a Country Boy," just keeping it "REAL." The passion, the pain, the feelings, emotion and real life that are in his songs is what touches the hearts of all who have had the opportunity to hear Larry C Johnson.
